Yesterday I turned 26 and as I drove back from Arkansas, I found myself reflecting on my life and all of the things that I've learned throughout my years. Honestly, there's no possible way to sum up what I've learned, what I've seen, or what I've been through. There are so many things that, if given the chance, I would go back and tell my teenage self. Life is confusing and beautiful at the same time. Here are a few things I want to share...
So there you have it. Like I said, there is no possible way to sum up or express all of the things that I've learned but these are important to remember. You only get one shot at life and you deserve to have the best possible life. Be happy, love yourself, and have that slice of cake.
Throughout our lives we encounter new people every single day. From classmates to cashiers to coworkers, I can't even begin to try and estimate how many people I've met in my 25 years. What's crazy is that in the sea of people we encounter, we find a few hidden gems and call them our friends.
Whether you've known each other since elementary school when one of you spit in the other person's tunnel on the playground or you met working your part-time job in college, good friends are essential for any stage of life. They're not just the people that you call to share good news with. They're the people that you call when you have bad news to share, when you're down and out and have no idea what to do, when you realize that giving up and walking away is what you have to do. Here's the thing about true friends though, they support your decisions- even when they don't agree with them (Cody) and stand beside you while you do what you think will make you happy...this doesn't mean that they don't voice their opinions but it does mean that they don't turn their backs when you do something they don't necessarily agree with.
I'd like to say that I have no idea where I'd be if I didn't have my friends but I think I know the answer. I would be left settling for less than I deserve, being treated a way that no one should be treated, and longing for more out of life. Yet here I am, with the support of my friends and family (and a whole lot of help from God) in the best place possible. If I hadn't had someone to turn to and say "listen, here's where I am and I need help" I don't know what I would have done but I did and I owe each of you forever.
So here's to you, true friends! I'm so blessed to be surrounded by people like you and I wouldn't trade any of you for anyone else. I love you and I'm so thankful to call you my friend.
Hi friends! I'm Cally, an Arkansas native living in Nashville, TN. Here's a look inside my life, posts about products I love and probably a few too many Friends quotes!
