The cutest little day spa I ever did see. O.liv Body Bar is a unique escape from the day-to-day where everything is customized to fit your individual needs. You're greeted by someone at the front desk where you'll check in and they'll show you around. With the cutest lounge areas, fully stocked with complimentary tea and water, you'll sit back and relax while you wait on your appointment.
Your appointment starts with a visit to the body bar where you'll get to customize your massage oil. They start with an extra virgin olive oil shot and you get to add high grade essential oils and herbal powders to create the perfect blend for your needs (don't worry, if you're clueless about essential oils like I am, they have a cheat sheet). You'll then be escorted to your massage room where you can relax while you get a great massage!
I highly recommend opting for a session that involves hot stones because seriously y'all, it's SO good! It doesn't get any better than a couple of hours to take your mind off of everything else and just relax. The staff at O.liv is beyond welcoming and professional and you'll feel right at home. It's my go-to spa here in Nashville and if you're local, it should be yours!
My first year at Hubspot's INBOUND was one for the books. I had the opportunity to attend sessions from business leaders, marketing gurus, social media content creators, and many others! I learned a great deal from each of the speakers and am already exploring ways to apply what I learned to my life and my work. Let's talk a little about what I learned from the Joanna Coles spotlight session.
Your habits: Put your phone down. Standing in line? Stay off your phone. Waiting on someone? Stay off your phone. Look around and connect with the people who surround you. Relationships are built when you start making real connections. Start journaling. Recording your thoughts and emotions will help you recognize patterns in your behavior and in turn, help you find your strengths and weaknesses. Take these and use them in all that you can.
Your passion: If you're feeling stuck or aren't quite sure what you want to do, think about the things that you did as a child. What made you happy? What were you passionate about before you grew up and started to work? If you can't remember, ask your parents, siblings, or childhood friends. Once you know what those things are, do more of them.
Your friendships: Take a good, hard look at your friendships and those you surround yourself with. Consider their actions, whether or not they support the things that you want to do. Determine who is holding you back and who is pushing you forward. It's okay to let go of those who don't support you and don't encourage growth. Surround yourself with people who will help you become the best version of yourself.
Your reputation: Pay attention to it. Your reputation is the most valuable thing you have. Take it seriously. Don't risk your reputation for anything. You need it.
Eats + Drinks
Cheers: I feel like visiting Cheers is a must. It's an icon from the 90s and hey, sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name.
Boston Seasons Beer Garden: Such a cute little setup near City Hall Plaza. With a great local beer and wine selection, fire pits and cozy seating, and a couple of putting greens this was almost a repeat stop.
Legal Seafood: If you're a seafood fan, this seemed to be a very popular spot. I'm not a huge fan so I stuck with fish and chips. They were pretty busy for 4pm on a Tuesday so it's safe to say that the locals love it!
Eataly: My absolute favorite spot during the trip! The spaghettoni was SO GOOD. We made reservations but arrived about 20 minutes early and they seated us immediately which was great and our waiter was beyond accommodating.
Mike's Pastry: I think this one is pretty self explanatory. There were so many pastry options, I could hardly narrow it down. I suggest the Oreo pastry and I promise you won't regret it. So good and so worth the walk to the north end.
So there you have it! Let me know if you've been to any of these places or what your favorite Boston spots are!
